CHANNEL TUBESHAPE
Distinctive mark and basis of all ROTWILD frames: the CHANNELTUBE technology developed by ADP ENGINEERING. These tubing sets, exclusively developed specifi - cally for ROTWILD mountain bikes, racing bikes and road bikes, are characterised by tube sections with wall thicknesses based experimentally and analytically
determined values, and individually matched to each area of use. This individual design allows us to emphasise specific development aspects in relating to the intended use of the finished bikes, for instance, to increase the bottom bracket rigidity, the track stability or to reduce weight wherever it makes sense.
Channel Tubeshape Aluminium
Stiff, light and high durability for a long life cycle: For the new ROTWILD Carbon Fibre reinforced plastic (CFP) our engineers use a “tube to tube” technology where every single CFP-tube is bounded together with high dimension accuracy. Each single tube is made by hand.
Shape, thickness and the directions of the fi bre are orientated to the forces within the construction. At this point we are able to use CFP technology within a ROTWILD mainframe for the fi rst time. For a highly competitive construction with a maximum of first-class quality.

Channel Tubeshape Carbon
All the knowledge attained from the previous development cycles and ideas are contained in a unique technology: the CARBON CHANNELTUBE by ADP Engineering. This state-of-the-art carbon-fi bre composite design embodies the ultimate form in lightweight construction in the best sense of the words with noticeable functional advantages. High stiffness and durability combined with very low weight are the outstanding characteristics of the ROTWILD carbon-fi bre composite tubes, which helps the whole design to have unbeatable service life. This is combined with an intensive development process and a complex manufacturing process that demands more time and the most precise manual accuracy in all work steps. The ROTWILD engineers also play a key role here, with their network of science, outstanding sportspeople and the best production facilities with the most modern production processes and the ability to access enormous resources. We want to master the limit and maintain our in-house development paths in high-end frame construction. Therefore, we do not rely on others, but carry out extensive basic research and develop our frame tubes ourselves including in carbon construction. We defi ne exactly which wall thicknesses are necessary and how the
(positions have to be oriented to each other to get the best out of the material. We also work on continuous improvements in laminate structures for the best-possible use of the specifi c fi bre characteristics. The carbon-fi bre composite CHANNELTUBE itself is conceived as a multiple-layer composite of exactly defi ned UD layers (uni-directional). The UD prepregs (pre-impregnated fi bre layers) are oriented exactly by hand in the direction of the load. Tube wall thicknesses can be defi ned exactly in order to achieve the lowest possible tube weight. Our specialists then precisely glue the individual tubes to each other in a “tube-totube” process into a high-performance carbon-fi bre frame with the highest production quality. As we do not use so-called “open moulds” the effort is also immense here: For just three different carbon frames, more than 70 individual moulds have been developed so that a precise production with the highest product quality and reliability is ensured. The carbon-fi bre composite CHANNELTUBE technology of the ROTWILD bikes has proved itself within the shortest possible time on the toughest race courses and demonstrated its performance at the international peak, including winning the XC World Championships in 2007.
