Why did you start riding bikes? When did you start?
I started (riding bikes) in 1993 with some friends. We used to meet up in the afternoon. In the beginning we would just do trials. After a while it got boring, so we started riding tours. After that one thing led to another.

When did you start racing?
I did my first real MTB race in 1994. One year after I already became a member of the national team.

What was your largest success in riding?
Without a doubt it was the victory at the U23 German Cross Country Championship. But also the Vice-Championship titles in this discipline were a great experience. I almost forgot one other thing: to be the first German rider to win the swisspower.

When did you start riding for the TEAM FIAT ROTWILD?
I have been part of the Team since the 2008 season.

What is special about the TEAM FIAT ROTWILD?
In the past the Team FIAT ROTWILD´has been able to be very successful. Also it ist he team in Germany, which stuck to the MTB sport from the very beginning. I certainly do hope, that I can influence this history a little and that I can contribute some sportiv highlights this year.

Where is your hometrail and what are your favourite bikespots?
I ride a lot in the "Zittauer Gebirge" and in the "Isergebirge (CZ)", which are very close to Görlitz. I use the "Zittauer Gebirge" in order to improve my riding technique on the MTB. There exist many sand-stone-trails, which demand everything from ones riding technique.

Which one is your favourite ROTWILD bike?
I will have a lot of fun on all the bikes, however I am very anxious to ride the R.R2 FS. I could use it for some stages of the Trans Germany and the Trans Alp.

What are your most favourite races?
My most favourite race is the Erzgebirgs Bike Marathon (EBM),, since I managed to win it five times already. The spirit there is unique, as well, and somehow I feel like I am part of the inventory.

How much do you train?
Since I work full time and also need to fulfil some other obligations, I don’t train all that much. But in average I probably train something like 16 hours per week.

What are your sportive goals in 2008?
Spots on the podium in stage races are my goals, and of course I want to win some other marathons. I am absolutely confident in terms of the 2008 season.

Do you have a personal motto?
It needs to be fun, otherwise it wouldn’t work.
